Hell, even the Hollow Knight subreddit barely even talks about Silksong at all at this point. Originally posted by jdlightside:that second point you have there only makes the radio silience/lack of news from Team Cherry all the more baffling I'd perhaps even say drastically so. we dont have much to talk about the game since we dont have any info in the past 3~4 years If those are the only post ideas that anybody can come up with, then this forum might as well remain silent like Team Cherry's blog. Can we please have something new in this forum? It is tiring to come back here all the time and see only two kinds of threads: the one where someone is upset over the game not being out / the developers not giving an update, and the other one where someone rants / criticizes the people that make the first type of thread. Originally posted by Phirestar:A few points:ģ. So it has been in development for at least 5 years - 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and now going into 2022 - not 3 years.ģ. We've been told, by Leth, that early stages of development on Silksong had begun shortly after the release of the original Hollow Knight (and possibly sometime before it as well). Since Team has never given a statement regarding any form of launch window, it cannot have been pushed back to a new date, and therefor cannot be delayed.Ģ. A "delay" would imply that a release date was previously specified, and the project has been met with unforeseen issues that result in it no longer being able to meet that date, and will now be released at a future point. Silksong is not, and has never been, delayed. For more on Hollow Knight, read why we named the first game one of the best of the last generation.1. No update has since been given on a new release date. In a Tweet, Team Cherry's Marketing Director announced that the game will no longer hit its release window of the 'first half of 2023'. Hollow Knight Silksong delayed out of 'first half of 2023' We'll have to wait and see just how many new bells and whistles are included this time around, but, for now, the action is looking like more Hollow Knight - which is certainly not a bad thing. Generally, if you played Hollow Knight, it seems as though you'll be right at home with the gameplay in Silksong. Boss fights look to be a big part of Silksong, with the gameplay trailer released last year having shown off a couple of the main foes we'll be taking on. It's a Metroidvania game once again, meaning that certain areas are locked behind ability upgrades, with lots of backtracking involved. You'll explore different zones, slowly unlocking the map. So far, we've yet to see too much gameplay for Silksong, but what's been shown looks to be a continuation of the platforming/boss fighting of its predecessor. Once again, players will be able to find new abilities as they progress, giving them options for customizing Hornet. She is much more agile, able to dart and grapple around the world, with her needle weapon in hand. Players will play as Hornet in Hollow Knight Silksong, who is a pretty stark contrast when compared to the Knight from the first game.
